Our Services
The Advisory Service is used by the full range of client types from sovereign wealth funds, endowments, pension funds, family offices and captive insurance to high net wealth and trust funds.
We assist clients in designing and implementing investment policies that are appropriate to their risk capacity and appetite, customising an asset allocation structure, researching discretionary managers or funds, appointing the manager, monitoring portfolio investments against a client’s risk and return requirements, supporting the ongoing interaction with managers and developing a coherent investment strategy at the total portfolio level.
We provide comprehensive, proactive advice and support at a modest level of fees that are quickly recovered through direct savings in costs and commissions – and this is before the significant gains achieved through improved investment returns and the comfort of better risk controls.
Our investment advisory service is not exclusive but is most effective when total assets exceed $10 million.
The client set up process includes the strategic initial review of the client background, risk profiling and the determination of appropriate investment guidelines and objectives on the total fund. From this we propose an investment structure and an implementation plan which includes full support for fund manager and fund selection.
Ongoing monitoring and control programme including customised monthly reporting, AMps analysis, cost control and risk monitoring.
Ongoing review of strategy and action taken, including the regular review of risk guidelines and performance as well as holding meetings with beneficiaries, trustees and external managers, all pitched at a level appropriate to the client’s skill set and interest. The process is designed to be thought-provoking and proactive so as to contribute to informed action where necessary. It forms part of the process of skill and knowledge transfer.
Significant administrative support is provided for trustees or the administrators in all aspects of the day to day interface with managers, funds or other service providers.
As a signatory of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment, IAM specialises in structuring portfolios to ensure they take into account any environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) or ethical considerations within a framework agreed with the client.
