Case Study of a private client

A substantial private client trust, which operates through an independent investment committee under the chairmanship of a senior family member. The investment portfolio is complex with over 50 positions, predominantly funds and a limited number of discretionary fund managers.

IAM provide advice on all aspect of running what is effectively a family office investment management operation. We maintain an active buy list for the account of over 100 funds with a constant programme of evaluating current holdings with alternate position ready to hand. We undertake detailed research on interesting ideas raised by the client family but not already covered internally. We support the administrative process of buying and selling funds. Monitoring, review and control is through the monthly report and a continuous cycle of regular and ad hoc meetings with the family who are internationally based. The client structure is a highly cost effective and better resourced alternative to having a family office with its own investment team. The investment record has been exceptional.
